MATERIAL + DYE → EXPERIMENT → CLOTHING → TIME

Research is the brand’s method; clothing is the result.

FRAGMENTS is a clothing brand exploring impermanence through materials and dyeing. Every garment is an experiment whose final form is shaped by the process.

We work with a range of plant-based and natural dyes, yarn and felting. Our most distinctive area of experimentation is rust dyeing — transforming rust into a range of nuanced tones, surfaces and patterns. Every model exists as a series of one-offs: natural dyeing gives each piece its own pattern, even within one dye bath.

Time / materialImpermanence · transformation · trace of process · time

One of the brand's main pillars is reflecting on impermanence and watching natural transformations — the work of time, before which everyone is equal. Everything changes: things change, age, die and are reborn, just as people do. It is natural, and it is not ours to control. It teaches us not to cling, to contemplate, to value the moment, and to see beauty in decay as much as in birth.

Stains and wear become part of the design. This is an honest conversation about time and material, a reflection on how craft could exist today.

Through clothing we speak about more: care for body and mind, respect for living beings, a sensible use of resources, a conscious view of the world. We believe in putting reusable materials to good use — and what is usually called waste, but is in fact abundance.

We work with contemporary natural dyeing techniques, look for ways to make clothing more sustainable, and tell stories through images that wake awareness in the people around us. By our own example we show another way to live and create without harming the environment, keeping our ancestors' memory of how to live in harmony with the elements.

Fragments / wholeEvery colour is a fragment of one particular process

Uneven dyeing, breaks, spontaneous transitions, unexpected pairings of materials and textures — this is visible fragmentation that comes together into something new, something whole. A piece is not “evenly dyed”; it is assembled from stains, transitions and traces. Like our world.

Natural dyeing can never be repeated twice. Every colour is a fragment of one particular process, on one particular day, with particular leaves. That is not a flaw; that is the method.

Acting on intuition, trying combination after combination, we assemble a new form of our own from fragments — memories, experiments, chance finds, skills, ideas.

Wabi-sabi / avant-gardeAvant-garde · Convenient · Creative · Craftsmanship · Dynamic · Eco-conscious · Experimental

The core of the brand is wabi-sabi — the aesthetics of transience and imperfection — and a careful, sensible attitude to resources. We retell traditional techniques and images in the language of contemporary design, joining biophilia with touches of the avant-garde and grunge. Here a stain or a worn patch is not a defect but a sign of time and of the life of the piece: ageing as ripening, a break as wholeness, quiet without hurry or pomp. It is a state of thoughtful contemplation, of accepting imperfection, and of conscious choice — of materials, of production, of surroundings.

Key ideas

Wabi-sabi

Accepting the imperfect, the incomplete, the temporary. Beauty in a crack, a worn patch, a faded colour.

Impermanence

The natural transformation of things and people. Everything ages, changes, dies and is reborn. There is beauty in the process.

Natural dyeing

A technique that does not hide but brings out the natural way colour changes over time.

Stain / trace

Not a defect but a sign of life. Proof that the piece was worn, in touch with a body and its surroundings.
